Design Extra Virgin Olive Oil

DEVO is an all-Apulian story of passions and contaminations between design,

the art of ceramics and the culture of olive oil.

Our vases are like a journey through Puglia to discover the ancient art of ceramics,

handed down from father to son,

but they are also an experience of taste thanks to extra virgin olive oil,

a native expression of this land.

Let us tell you the story of our Puglia …

Let us tell you the story of our Puglia ….

The Bubboli

The design of our vases is inspired by “bubboli”, ancient clay bricks, usually cylindrical, used in southern Italy for the construction of vaulted architectural structures.

Through the reinterpretation of forms and the contamination between customs we want to tell you about our Puglia, suspended between its ancient soul and a contemporary drive.

In each of these vases there is a story, the story of the hands that expertly shaped it, of the sun that dried the clay and of the earth that inspired its colors.

The Art of Figula

Our “bubboli” are entirely hand-made with lathe machining performed by Puglian ceramic masters, guardians of this primitive art that has perpetuated over time, linking fathers to their children in their fascination for the figula tradition.

Small differences in colors, details and shapes are the sign of the craftsman, his sensitivity, his ability to feel the clay like a living substance in his hands, and the uniqueness and personality of every artifact.

Extra virgin olive oil

The extra virgin olive oil in our “bubboli” is strictly made in Puglia and is produced with great mastery and passion by men who are proud to call themselves farmers and can brag of four generations of experience in olive growing and milling.

Our extra virgin olive oil is the precious fruit of olives perfectly ripened, hand-picked and milled within 24 hours.

The transformation phases are an art of true alchemy, a search for the perfect balance between the ideal times and temperatures needed to preserve not only the flavors and the scents of the oil, but above all, its many nutritional properties.

Indeed, it is the presence of polyphenols, antioxidants and vitamin E that give extra virgin olive oil an undisputed leading role in the Mediterranean diet, as well as making it an irreplaceable ally for our health and well-being.

The olive tree

Seemingly endless expanses of slivery green rolling down to the sea make Puglia the Italian region richest in olive trees.

With over 300,000 hectares of olive trees, the distinctive symbol of Puglia is the olive grove.

Dominating this landscape are centuries-old olive trees, immense and impressive with their twisted trunks, carved by the winds and shaped by time.

In those trunks some people see a face, a soul, a sign of the ancestral link of the olive tree with this land.
